Purpose Album Review

Justin's sound has improved heavily since his label change to Def Jam. World renown EDM artists Skrillex & Diplo produced the singles he used to promote his album over the summer. Justin's overall adult aesthetic has gained a brand new fan base...including me. When "Where Are Ü Now" dropped I thought it was hot and I didn't expect Bieber to team up with Skrillex & Diplo. He made a techno emo summer bop. “Where Are Ü Now” was just a preview of his upcoming album and I was hooked and ready for more singles and more promotion for this upcoming project.

After the heavy summer promo for Where Are Ü Now, Justin then released an early fall record called “What Do You Mean”. I thought “What Do You Mean” was a better track than “Where are Ü Now”. This song is very catchy and just has a simplistic beat compared to his previous single.

Bieber was featured on Travis Scott's' "Rodeo" album on the song "Maria I'm Drunk" and I loved that collab and on Bieber's new album "Purpose" he has a collab with Travis Scott as well....AND I LOVE IT! This song is my favorite song on the "Purpose" album. I find the production of this song to be amazing, I have been a big fan of Travis Scott and I think that him collaborating with Justin on this track was a perfect match. Justin's vocals + Travis' production= a great R&B/Trap record.

Overall I think this album is just okay. I think its nothing special considering this is not an album that I can listen to every song and enjoy. This album has a few jams, but I heard most of the songs from singles he released so I feel like there was nothing to look forward to as much. The other songs on the album mostly sound the same and have the same repetitive theme which is break up lyrics and having an upbeat dance production to balance out the sadness.

These are my top five songs on Purpose

1.     No Sense (feat. Travi$ Scott)

2. No Pressure (feat. Big Sean)

3. Company

4. Sorry

5. What Do You Mean
