Culture Review

The chart topping trio, Migos released their highly anticipated album ‘Culture’ on January 27th. After the success of their viral smash “Bad & Boujee” fans were left with wanting more music from the Migos. For those who think Migos are an “up and coming” rap group you’re sadly mistaken.

Migos have been releasing hits since 2013 and have created a new sound within rap music but their unique flows and the execution of their ad libs are what sets them apart from other rappers. You might recognize the bangers that came from their mixtape Y.R.N (Young Rich Niggas) like 'Hannah Montana' & 'Versace'. Versace became their breakout hit that even Drake  decided to come out with a remix of the song. A year after the group released their single "Fight Night", the song broke into Billboard's Top 10 for radio airplay during its release.

Since 2014 Migos (as a group) have been under the radar. But from 2014 to now you might have seen or heard Migos member, Quavo featured on songs with Travis Scott, Young Thug, and Kanye West. While Quavo ventures into his solo career, the Migos have no plans in breaking up.

With Bad & Boujee charting number 1 on Billboard. Fans were eager to see what their album would sound like. Culture which is the name of their recent record stays true to the name. Migos created a new wave of rap music that has been taken by mainstream artists such as Drake, Future, and Big Sean. Culture as a whole has grounded Migos’ future career. The album is filled with hits and standout bangers that feature other rappers such as Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, and 2 Chainz. Stand out tracks like ‘Kelly Price’ & ‘Slippery’ are what makes this record a timeless compilation of bangers. The chemistry between Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff is incomparable to any group in music. When you listen to Culture you never say to yourself “i wish (insert Migos member) verse was longer than (insert Migos member)  ” or "I wish (insert Migos member) wasn't on the chrous"  each member of the group has an opportunity to shine on a track, whether it be in a hook, verse, or supporting ad-lip.

Migos have a unique quality that sets them apart from other artists in their field. They have a bond and chemistry that is unbreakable along with endless talent that is creating a standard in rap.
