REVIEW: Perfect Timing

Critically acclaimed producer, Metro Boomin, and recent XO signee Nav recently released a joint album that nobody asked for.

If you don’t know who Metro Boomin is from his signature adlib, ‘Metro Boomin wants some more..’  in the opening of his songs, let me introduce you then.  Metro Boomin is a chart topping producer who’s worked with Drake, Future, 21 Savage, and almost everyone at this point. Nav is a producer who’s worked on hit songs like Drake’s ‘Back to Back’ and was featured as a rapper on Travis Scott’s ‘biebs in the trap’. He also dropped his debut E.P ‘Nav’ a few months back in December, which featured the hit ‘Some Way’ featuring The Weeknd.

Nav’s rap style is heavily influenced by autotune and having trap like beats that sound identical on almost every track. His collaboration with Metro Boomin helps him breakout of that repetitive mold he created for himself. The super upbeat title track, ‘Perfect Timing’ opens the album with Nav switching up his flow to imitate being a member of Migos. While this project does sound different than his E.P most of the songs sound the same. After listening to this project a few times the two standout tracks are ‘Minute (feat. Offset & Playboi Carti)’ and ‘Perfect Timing’.
